Po-Boy Porn Dedicated to my Dr. ER in Chicago

So this post is dedicated to Dr. ER, my awesome buddy in chicago. He gave me an idea to blog about food in NOLA, and this is one huge po-boy pigout porn post dedicated to him. Enjoy, Andy honey!

Po-Boys are the reason i do not eat regular cold sammiches. i mean, why make a sammich out of cold cuts when you can have fried shrimp, ersters (oysters), catfish, or roast beef dripping with gravy, hot sausages, alligator sausage or even, or even french fries with debris gravy? (debris gravy: the roast beef gravy with bits and pieces of the roast beefy goodness) come on now.

I live right by Domilise's Po-boy shop uptown, which was featured on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show and the shit is GOOD. And my girl lives by Parkway, which has some damn good po-boys also. They are quite known for their roast beef po-boys.

We ordered a fried catfish and a fried erster po-boy with a side of debris fries. I guarantee you will never see anyone eat with as much glee as we do:

Awesome on the Streets of New Orleans

One of the things that i've missed from my days in AZ is the lowrider bike culture. Primarily a Latino craft, it's not that prevalent in New Orleans, although i admit that i'm not ingrained in the bike culture here, so I could be totally wrong, because there is a thriving bike culture here despite how bike UN-friendly the streets are here. NOLA has so far to go on this tip. And NOLA is really a great place that could be totally bike-sessible b/c so many peeps are 'hood centric, that riding a bike 'round your own self-contained hood really makes sense.

Today at one of me and mr lizn't's (yes, grammarians all over are freaking out at that) food celebrations, we hit up Juan's Flying Burrito on Magazine St, and what do we see, but this lowrider bike of beauty. Luckily, the owner and builder of the bike comes out, and i am able to grab an on-the-spot interview with him. He hand built the bike, and I was so bike-struck, that I couldn't think of all the questions I should have asked him, like if he does this for others, or if this is just his personal hobby.

At any rate, hit up Juan's, especially now, when the weather is nice enough to sit outside, have a yummy quesadilla, and give your boy Angus props on his ride. Because my little phone cam pics do not do the bike justice at all. (one day, a google Android phone will be mine)

New Orleans moment- Sitting outside one of my favorite coffeeshops, I just had to stop these girls and love on her kicks. Super cute shell toed Adidas on a couple of supercute girls. They of course, loved on Pixel, which was my in to get them to let me snap a pic of the kicks.

Completely self-indulgent and insanely cute Pixel puppy warning:

We went to CritterFest a few weeks ago and there was a photographer doing pet photo sittings. how could we not do these? i have to say, me and Pixel came out really really cute. The photographer took a bunch of pictures, stopped, then JUST COULDN'T HELP HIMSELF and took a few more. they came out sosososososo cute. and yes, i have been told that i've become one of those, where me and Pixel look alike. oh thank goodness the dog is so cute. how bad would it suck if i had a butt ugly dog (like the first dog in the link yikes)
and i'm just gonna say it, i think we came out cutest in the whole batch. because we did.
not bad for a hot, humid and sweaty day...i highly doubt they photoshopped the pics either. somehow, i don't think ordering a print for .40 includes retouching.

never ventured into the green shoe foray before. i wanted either the brown or the burgundy, but of course, i waited and waffled, got scared in case The Kick thinks this is a frivolous purchase and yanks my food funds, and by the time i decided i need a pair of spring/summer shoes for work/play/weekends/jeans/skirts, the brown and burgundy were sold out. so i got the greens. and my dope ass friend who works for zappos slid me a discount code. woot Krismon! thanks so much!

these are totally cute, and comfy, i think would go with a lot of my panstes for work, and i won't almost DIE 3 times before 9am these shoes will, actually save my life. they are suedey, so they will carry me through to the winter too. i think they are a versatile shoe, no? hmm. need ideas on what to wear these with.

pros of getting shoes delivered to work - i get my shoesy shoes!
cons of getting shoes delivered to work - i do not have a mirror to look at them in. and cannot dress up in different outfits to test drive. i think i love them.

when The Kick was in town, he surprised me with a few days at an awesome bed and breakfast uptown, and each little section was themed. we were in Bordello Alley. oooh racy!

the room was so super cute. i loved the pink couch and the room key for reals said "Bordello 1"
