ok. despite the reason that this laptop has a bamboo casing because it's jumping on the Green/renewable resources/eco-friendly gimmick bandwagon, and my supreme loathing for this latest marketing fad and gimmickry, my love for bamboo supercedes it and i love this.
Debuted in Taiwan last year, i just may keep an eye out for it in 09 and get a job so i can get one of these.
....or do it johnny dangerously style and put bamboo contact paper on my macbook.

it's been a few days, and i've been incredibly busy....i got an assignment to do some web design and so i've been crackin the books gettng my web 2.0 coding on. web years is like dog years. i've been out of the game for a bit and the scene is crazy different. so i've been cramming in the new code like crazy. i have a ton of resources online bookmarked, but i have come to realize that learning from the web for me is useless. i just get led away by related link by related link by related link and i don't learn exactly how to do something, but bits and pieces of a million ways of a million different people's way of coding. leaving me with...wha-?
so i went old skool and got books. books and a notebook and some of my million gazillion pens that i never get to use and got down to coding. it made a huge difference, b/c by the time i got done with going through the book, i was able to hand code like the old days. i feel very accomplished and quite the proud of myself. it may only have resulted in the home page as the output, but it all worked out, fit correctly and i understood all the concepts.
but then i tried to tackle making a WordPress template? oh no. it was a whole different ball game. i could not absorb all that. Cramming in all of how to code CSS and XHTML in a week, i think my brain is full for now. I was going to tackle me some PHP, but i don't think the site i'm to revamp has a SQL database on it's server....i think it's just relegated to being very basic. Hopefully i can take my new skillz to some freelance work on the side, b/c yes. i am quite struggling on the funds side of things, and need to pick up some side work.
